Thomas Michael Snediker, 70, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday October 2, 2023, at his home. He was born on August 3, 1953 in Kansas City, MO, a son of the late Robert and Jean (Cleary) Snediker, and had been a resident of Londonderry for the past 33 years.
After years of climbing the proverbial ladder and making a difference in the corporate world, he changed his path and dedicated his life to enriching the minds of young scholars. He created Youth Explorations in Science, an after-school program, that allowed millions of children to find joy in science all over the world. These inspiring projects made it into the hands of children in 28 different countries. He most recently took pride in sending his kits to the children of Ukraine after their schools and lives were disrupted by war. He was affectionately known as the Rocket Man. Flying planes and rockets with participants of the after-school programs brought him great joy. He shared his mother’s love of nature, birds, and gardening and created memorable landscapes everywhere he lived. He was proud to have passed down a love for nature and its beauty to his daughters. Taking his family on countless vacations was one of Tom’s favorite things to do, Walt Disney World specifically held a special place in his heart. Thomas will be remembered for changing the lives of others for the better. He was kind, generous, and giving of himself as a business leader, a teacher, a father, a friend, a son, and a brother.
He is survived by his two daughters, Ashley Swenson and husband Kevin of Londonderry and Lindsey Spanos and husband Billy, of Londonderry, four grandchildren, Mia, Brooks, Laney and Braxton; four brothers, James Snediker and wife Terri-Ann of Simsbury, CT, John Snediker of Beverly, MA, Michael Snediker and wife Shelly of Brooklyn Park, MN, and Robert Snediker, III and wife Karen of Ukiah, CA; one sister, Patricia Snediker and husband Kirk Thornton of Simsbury, CT; mother of his children and friend, Ann (Hogan) Snediker, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
