Wayne E. Williams, a lifetime resident of Derry, NH, passed away at his home on Sunday, 1 October. Wayne was a devoted Husband, a loving Father, and a friend to many throughout the community.
Wayne graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1984 and attended the DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. His passion for electronics and technology throughout High School and College – hacking hardware and building projects – progressed into a career in telecommunications, information technology, and data storage. Wayne was passionate about his work as a Test Engineer and was always pushing the bounds of what could be done to challenge himself and to achieve the best results for his customers.
Wayne was also dedicated to community service. He was a longtime volunteer at the Derry-Salem Elks Lodge as a Trustee (6 years), member of the House Committee (2 years), and was House Committee Chair at the time of his passing. He helped the Derry-Salem Lodge continue uninterrupted community service during the recent pandemic, tirelessly worked to improve operations, and for many years led the Thanksgiving and Christmas food and toys delivery to local Families in need. Additionally, he worked on information technology projects that included assisting with equipment and game maintenance. Through Wayne’s tireless commitment to the Elks and its mission to serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, he personified Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity.
He was always a positive person to be around at work or at home. Everyone loved talking and consulting with him; he would help anyone that needed it at any time. Most importantly, Wayne was a Family Man.
He was happiest when he was spending time with his Wife and Sons. Wayne will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 33 years, Judy (Dorr) Williams and his three Sons Erik Williams, Andrew Williams, and Bryan Williams, all of Derry, NH; his Mother, Doris Williams of Derry, NH; his Brother Keith Williams and his Wife Jennifer Williams of Monument, CO; his Niece, Paige Williams of Costa Mesa, CA; his Nephew Sean Williams of Monument, CO; several special nieces and nephews Michael, Auberey, Ashley, Alyssa, Anthony, Paul, Cade, Dylan, and Lana. He was predeceased by his Father, Robert Williams.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH.
