Born March 10, 1937, in Sylvester, Mrs. Tripp was the daughter of the late Lamar Perry Sauls and Della Poynter Sauls. She was also preceded in death by two step-sons, Tommy Tripp and Jimmy Tripp; one step-daughter, Linda Moreno; and a step-granddaughter, Kirstyn Tripp; and three sisters, Roseann Webster, Sandy Green and Nancy Long.

Janis was a homemaker in her early years and enjoyed living the country lifestyle with her family on a ranch in Okeechobee, Florida. To help make ends meet, she cooked lunch, “Dinner”, for the cow crew. She spoke often of the meals she cooked and the stories the cowboys told while eating the food she had prepared for them. Many of those cowboys still talk about her “Good cookin’”.

In her later years, she worked for Lockheed Martin Marietta in Ocala, Florida soldering circuit boards for the Patriot missiles. She retired from Lockheed Martin Marietta and Don retired from his job not long after. A few years after retiring, they moved to Ocilla, Georgia where she enjoyed going to church, and canning and preserving vegetables they obtained from local farmers. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton.

Janis loved her family, cooking, fishing, playing cards, her pets and hummingbirds, but above all, she loved the Lord.

Mrs. Tripp is survived by her husband, Donald Tripp of Ocilla; two sons and daughters-in-law, Victor and Kim Crews and Jay and Milly Crews, all of Okeechobee, Florida; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy and Randy Hutto of Okeechobee, Florida and Karen Schwingel of Ocala, Florida; one step-son and his wife, Ronnie and Marsha Tripp of Ocala, Florida; one step-daughter and her husband, Sue and Jimmy Rutland of Ocala, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Tripp of Ocilla; one sister and brother-in-law, Jody and Noah Johnson of Virginia; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; numerous step great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews.
