Edward C. Celata, age 92 passed away on September 30, 2023 with the love of his life, Carol of 62 years by his side. He was the devoted father to James ( Jimmy ) Celata of Roslindale, Judith Celata of Hingham and her partner Frank Granara of Boston, Edward Celata and his husband Mark Lukas of Palm Beach, Fl., and Nancy ( Celata ) Balzano and her husband Anthony Balzano of Roslindale. and son of the late Joseph and Carmela Celata (Restaino).
Cherished Grandfather to Kristina, John, Anna, Emma, and Mia. Best Great Grandfather to LJ.
Loving brother of Alfred Celata, Anne Marie Anderson, Carol Caruso and the late Sabino Celata, Albina Forte, Robert Celata, Joseph Celata, Richard Celata, and Leonard Celata.
Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Ed was a well known business owner of Edward Celata Wholesale Florist for over 50 years in the Boston Flower Exchange and at the greenhouses at his home in Roslindale. After retirement from the florist business, Ed " Golf Cart Eddie " was a popular transportation operator at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center for over 10 years.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 6, 2023 at 11 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 169 Cummins Hwy. Roslindale. Family and Friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday October 5, 2023 from 5-7 PM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Hwy. Roslindale. Internment in St Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in Ed's name may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital 501 Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or Sacred Heart Church, 169 Cummins Hwy.
