Jimmy Lee “Buck” McDaniel, 73, of Tifton passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. McDaniel will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born February 25, 1950, in Tift County, Mr. McDaniel was the son of the late Willie McDaniel and Lillie Mae Hayes McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Annis McDaniel; one son, Joseph Lee McDaniel; three brothers, Bobby Lee McDaniel, Herman Edward McDaniel and Roy McDaniel; three sisters, Imogene Varnadore, Virginia Taylor and Sarah Grund; and one grandson, Hunter McDaniel. Before retiring, he was the owner and operator of Mac’s Auto Sales in Tifton.
Mr. McDaniel is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Stacey McDaniel of Cumming; two brothers, William C. McDaniel and Gene McDaniel, both of Tifton; one sister, Marie Hall of Tyrone; and four grandchildren, Logan McDaniel, Grant McDaniel, Brent McDaniel and Colby McDaniel.
