Worcester – James H. Morrison, 82, of Paxton passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, after a long battle with emphysema with family by his side.
Mr. Morrison is survived by his two sons, Matthew Morrison of Sonoma, CA and Andrew Morrison and his wife, Amy of Tyngsboro, MA; two daughters, Melody Grady and her husband, John of Auburn, MA and Shannon Smith and her husband, Michael of Paxton, MA; a sister, Rhea Byer and her longtime partner Richard Simmons of Akron, OH; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
James was born in Akron, OH son of the late Delmer H. and Anne J. (Aldstadt) Morrison. Graduating from Miami University, James was a mathematician and worked for the Raytheon Corporation for over 25 years as an engineer. After retirement, James became an avid coin collector and Boston Red Sox fan. James was an animal lover and spent endless hours watching the birds, squirrels, and other wildlife when he wasn’t caring for his beloved cats.
Funeral services are being held privately and are under the care of Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Morrison may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League 139 Holden Street Worcester, MA 01606.
