Obituary

Robert “Bobby” McKinnon, age 51, a recent resident of Franklin MA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 1, 2023. He was in Advertising Sales and Marketing.

Bobby was born on April 4,1972 in Framingham, MA to Deborah A. McKinnon and Robert Kerr who both predeceased him in life.

Bobby was a former longtime resident of Holliston, MA where he was raised and educated. He graduated in 1991 from Holliston High School where he was a star baseball player. He went on to the University of South Florida in Tampa where he continued to play ball until an accident severely injured his ankle and sidelined what could have been a promising career in baseball. He studied Business while at USF and Administration/Management at Nova Southeastern University FL.

A sports fan at heart, he enjoyed all the New England sports teams, but especially loved the Boston Red Sox.

Bobby was a loving father to his three beautiful children; they were his pride and joy and his greatest accomplishment in life. Bobby enjoyed traveling and vacationing with them, and one of their favorites was to Old Orchard Beach in ME. One of his last trips they took together as a family was to St. Thomas in the Caribbean, where they made wonderful memories together.

His son Tyler, 19, is a sophomore at UMASS Dartmouth, his daughter Julia, 17, is a Junior at Franklin High School and his daughter Brooke, 14, is a freshman at Franklin High School.

In addition to his three children, he is survived by his former wife, Jill Tattrie McKinnon of Franklin, his brother Ryan N. McKinnon and wife Jillian of Uxbridge, and his two nephews Lincoln and Hunter. He is the nephew of Donna Drinkwater-Therrien and her husband George of Swansboro, NC, Susan Tabone and her husband David of NY, Nancy Isaacson and her husband William of Franklin, Katherine Fisher of Plymouth, and Linda Gardner of Holliston along with numerous close cousins.

He was the grandson of the late John & Catherine McKinnon and William Daniel and Eleanor Kerr. He was the nephew of the late Edward McKinnon, Steven McKinnon, John McKinnon and Patrick McKinnon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11am, St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin MA. Interment immediately following the Mass at St, Mary’s Cemetery, 175 Beaver Street, Franklin, MA.
