Joel Harold “Joe” Benson, 53, of Tifton passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Benson will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Brian Joy, Larry Weaver, Ben Benson and Prue Benson will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 3, 1970, in Tifton, Mr. Benson was the son of the late Harold Carlton Benson and Ethel Sue Clements Benson. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gregory Paul Benson. He was the farm manager for Vanceville Turf.
Mr. Benson is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Savannah and Tyler Montoya of Tifton and Kayla and Justin Stout of Hope, Arkansas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky Carlton and Tammy Benson and James “Jimmy” and Susan Benson, all of Tifton; and one grandson, Micciah Montoya.
