Ramona P. “Mona” ( DeMartinis) Provenzano passed away surrounded by her family’s love on October 1st at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 69. Raised in the Spring Hill neighborhood of Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Natalie (Strozzi) DeMartinis. Mona graduated from Somerville High School and Katharine Gibbs College. She worked as a supervisor in the Registry of Motor Vehicles until she dedicated herself to being a stay at home mom. Mona loved her family. She enjoyed being at home and spending time together with Lenny, Marc and Sunny. Generous and fun loving, Mona loved to dance and was a great fan of Motown music. An animal lover at heart, She adopted dogs from a local shelter and gave them a loving home.
The beloved wife of Leonard C. Provenzano, Mona was a devoted mother of Marc Provenzano and his fiancée Danielle of Stoneham, and Jaclyn Natalie “Sunny” Provenzano of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Anthony Provenzano. She was a dear sister to Jon DeMartinis of Arlington, the late Marc DeMartinis and leaves many dear nieces and nephews.
Ramona’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday, October 5th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 179 Summer Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 – 8 PM.
