Obituary

HADLEY – Roger Chapdelaine, 95, of Hadley, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born at home on Edward Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on March 21, 1928, a beloved son of the late Harvey and Anna (Chretien) Chapdelaine. He was raised and educated in Chicopee and lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Hadley in 1993. He was employed as Home Improvement and Construction Contractor for 64 years and had owned and operated Valley Home Comfort, Inc. in Springfield. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and was a member of the Rotary International. He enjoyed summers at his home in Chatham for many years. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Doris C. (Coulombe) Chapdelaine. They were married on November 12, 1949 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 69 years of happiness together. He leaves his four loving children, Roger E. Chapdelaine and his wife, Kathleen, of West Springfield, Carol A. Dubilo of Springfield, Linda M. Corsi and her husband, Carl, of Three Rivers and Donna M. Connolly of West Springfield; his eight cherished grandchildren, Mark Chapdelaine and his wife, Laura, Michael Chapdelaine and his wife, Kara, Tara Traw and her husband, Michael, Adam Dubilo and his wife, Jennifer, Craig Corsi, Connor Corsi and his fiancée, Katie, Matthew Connolly and his wife, Kristen, and Christopher Connolly; his 14 cherished great grandchildren, Ryan and Christian Chapdelaine, Aiden and Anna Chapdelaine, Kathryn, Beatta, Jesse, Joseph, Benjamin and Timrek Traw, Skyylar and Gavin Dubilo and Miles and Liam Connolly; his dear brother, Richard Chapdelaine and his wife, Claire, of Chicopee; his dear sister, Claire Safarik and her husband, Jack, of West Springfield; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his dear brother, Robert Chapdelaine and his wife, Mary; and his dear sister, Theresa Belisle and her husband, William. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
