Stephan Joseph Hunchard, age 57, of Franklin passed away suddenly on September 19, 2023.
Born in Milford, MA on March 19, 1966, he was the son of the late Edward M. and Sylvia J. (Bartolomei) Hunchard. Steve was a lifelong Franklin resident.
He was a 1984 graduate of Tri County Regional Vocational Technical High School, where he excelled in metal fabrication shop. Steve was employed as a metal fabricator at the Sousa and DeMayo company in Attleboro Falls for over 30 years, and was said to be one of their best fabricators with a talent that will be near impossible to replace.
He is survived by his brothers, Mark Hunchard of Mashpee, and Michael Hunchard and his wife Judy of Uxbridge, and his girlfriend, Kathy Dube of Franklin. He is also survived by many family members and close friends.
Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and his brothers loved to discuss the details from their latest outdoor adventures, along with other shared interests. They were very close. Steve enjoyed trips to New Hampshire and to local parks with his girlfriend, Kathy. He and Kathy were also fans of Boston professional sports and NASCAR, and enjoyed watching games and events together. His humor and presence at family gatherings and get togethers will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in his honor on Monday, October 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ginley Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, Franklin, MA. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin, MA.
