Lillian E. Arthur, 92, of Chester, NH, passed away Saturday September 30, 2023, in Villa Crest Healthcare in Manchester, NH. She was born on April 17, 1931, in Concord, MA, a daughter of the late Elwin and Edith (Frost) Hollowell. Lillian had been a resident of Chester for 60 years, formerly living in Acton, MA.
She was an active member of the Chester Congregational Baptist Church for many years. She loved quilting and gardening, once creating a hybrid lily by cross breeding two species. She always enjoyed making creative projects with her children, then her grandchildren over the years.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Perley Arthur of Chester; one son, Scott Arthur and his wife Sue of Chester, two daughters, Holly Van Laarhoven and her husband Gary of Auburn and Wendy Moquin and her husband Randy of Bradford, NH. Four grandchildren, Tracey Allaire, Jeff Van Laarhoven and Darrin and Nick Cummings. Two great grandsons, Andrew and Zachary Collins.
Following cremation, a calling hour will be held on Friday, October 6th from 2 - 3pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd, Londonderry. A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home. Immediately following the service, a memorial reception will be held at the Chester Congregational Church Vestry, Chester St., Chester. The burial will be at a later date in Great Hill Cemetery, Rt. 121A, Chester.
