Victor M. Rivera, 76, of New Bedford died September 28, 2023 at home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Sara D. (Cordero) Rivera.
Born in Manati, Puerto Rico, son of the late Juan Rivera Velez and Concepcion (Montoyo) Rivera, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He was a family man who enjoyed gardening, watching sports and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include 2 sons, Victor Rivera, Jr. and his wife Melissa Leighton and Daniel Rivera, all of New Bedford; a daughter, Wanda Rivera of New Bedford; his brothers and sisters, Carmen Aviles, Juan Rivera, Sylvia Rivera, Justo Rivera, Antonio Rivera, Wilson Rivera, Albert Rivera, Beatriz Rivera and Ivette Rivera;5 grandchildren, Khai Rivera, Preston Rivera, Keynon Rivera, Joseph Rivera and Jonathan Rivera; 6 great-grandchildren, Londyn, Khai Rivera, Jr., Brooklyn, Arianna, Sophia and Khloe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gloria Nunez, Migdalia Rivera, Manuel Rivera and Brian Rivera.
His visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 4th from 4-7 PM in the from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5th at 11 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
