Eleanor May (Wilhelm) Weaver, 91, of Purchase Line, PA went from her residence to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
The daughter of Elmer E. and Nellie F. (Gumbert) Wilhelm, she was born on January 26, 1932 in Vandergrift, PA.
Eleanor was a longtime member of the East Mahoning Baptist Church in Purchase Line, PA, where she had been very active with the Ladies Aid.
She married Reyburn Melvin Eugene Weaver on April 14, 1951 and they shared sixty-two years of marriage until his death on June 29, 2013.
For over twenty years, Eleanor was employed at the Purchase Line School District, first as a custodian and then as a cook. She had also worked as a cook at the Green Twp. “Commodore’ Community Building for a number of years.
Eleanor was well known for being a talented baker and for her canning skills. Two of her favorite hobbies were gardening and playing cards.
She greatly enjoyed dining at B & J Restaurant in Rochester Mills, PA.
A devoted and loving mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her seven children: Gary Weaver and wife Diane of Indiana, PA; Barry Weaver and wife Gina of Purchase Line, PA; Nancy Duck and husband Barry “Mart” of Bowdertown, PA; Glenda “Sue” Salsgiver and husband Eddie of Glen Campbell, PA; Roger Weaver and wife Tracy of Mahaffey, PA; Greg Weaver of Purchase Line, PA and Brian “Scott” Weaver of Purchase Line, PA; her daughter-in-law, Debby Weaver of Commodore, PA; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Also surviving are her two sisters: Linda Kirkland of Clymer, PA and Karen Matty and husband Dennis of Home, PA and two sisters-in-law, Dolores Wilhelm of Clymer, PA and Marsha Wilhelm of Johnstown, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son, Larry Weaver; her two brothers: Richard and Robert Wilhelm and her sister, Donna Buterbaugh.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 p.m. and 7-9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd., in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 with Pastor Scott Sauers officiating. Interment will follow at East Mahoning Cemetery in Purchase Line, PA.
