LOWELL - Maria Concepcion Ramos-Mateo, better known as Conchita, 83, peacefully passed away on September 29, 2023, at Fairhaven Health Care Center in Lowell. She was the widow of the late Francisco Candanedo who passed away in 2016 after 50 years of marriage.
She was born on June 23, 1940 in Coamo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Ramos and Anna Gloria Mateo.
Conchita found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing her passion for crocheting and cooking. Her warm heart and gentle spirit drew her family close, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Conchita is survived by her loving children; her daughter Vicky Candanedo and her husband Richard Maldonado of Raleigh, NC, and Francisco ‘Cuco’ Candanedo of Nashua, NH, her grandchildren, Nicole Candanedo and Ricardo Candanedo. She was preceded in death by her sister, the late Margarita Ramos.
Conchita will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to bring comfort and warmth to the hearts of those she touched.
You are welcome to attend her calling hours from 2pm until 5pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA. At 4pm a funeral service will take place in the funeral home. Burial will take place privately at a later date at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
