Karen Louise Citron (Alexander) of Ventura, CA passed away on September 26, 2023, at her home in Ventura, CA from a private battle with cancer. Karen was born in San Bernardino, CA on January 27, 1952, to Margaret and Robert Alexander. She attended Orange High School in Orange, CA. It was during her Senior year at Orange High that her lifelong friend Donna Besnette (Castro) and Tom Castro decided to set up Karen with her future husband of 50 years (!) Robert (Bob) Citron on a double date. What a great match! Bob & Karen were married in August of 1973, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
After Karen and Bob were married and had their daughter Rebecca (Becky) they would relocate to Riverside County and Daniel (Danny) was born in 1980. They raised their children there and made many friends and memories with neighbors and dear friends. In 1998, they moved to Ventura, CA - the place they would retire and spend much time walking the Ventura Pier and driving to Santa Barbara for a day visit. Karen always loved a good book, time for a lunch with friends and family (Lazy Dog Café lunches!), and had a huge love for dogs - you would always find her anywhere close to a four legged friend giving them lots of “scratches”.
Karen is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Citron, daughter Rebecca (John Crumrine), son Daniel (Danny), and brother Cole Alexander (Leann). She was “Mema” to 5 beautiful grandchildren, Erin Citron, Ariah & Keira Duran, and Avery & Zoe Crumrine. She also is survived by 3 nieces (Michelle (Gavin), Tami & Sara) and 5 nephews (Bob, Tim (Amanda), Brian, Jason (Sue), Dennis), and many wonderful extended family and friends.
