Henry P. Wallace, 89, of Londonderry, NH, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He was born on June 9, 1934, in Derry, NH, a son of the late Raymond and Idella (Plummer) Wallace. Henry and his brothers were born on the Wallace Farm where they grew up affectionately referred to as the Wallace Boys. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1952. After graduation, he started working for Agway in Manchester, where he worked until his retirement after 37 years of service. Henry was a loyal 60-year Member of the Londonderry Presbyterian Church. He was a Jack of all trades, he humbly helped many with his "puttering" and "tinkering" skills and had the patience of a saint. He enjoyed country music and photographing sunsets and covered bridges. He had a voracious appetite for fair food and the many dishes prepared by and shared with his loving wife and family. He will be remembered as always smiling and content especially when with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Barbara (Dearborn) Wallace of Londonderry; one son, Brian Wallace and wife Jeanne of Derry; two daughters, Susan Wallace of Londonderry and Cindy Doyle and husband Terence of Derry; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Craig and Katie Doyle, Sean Wallace and Lauren Dawson; seven great grandchildren, one brother, Alfred Wallace and wife Susan M. of Londonderry, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by one brother, Harold Wallace in 2021.
A calling hour will be held on Monday October 2, 2023, from 9 – 10am in the Londonderry Presbyterian Church, Pillsbury Rd., Londonderry. The funeral service will begin at 10am in the Church with burial to follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Memorial contributions may be made to: Amedisys Home Health Care, Bedford, NH. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is handling the arrangements.
