Norma Irene Corley, 88, of Smithfield passed peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of Walter C. Corley who predeceased her in 2020.
Norma was born in Providence and was the daughter of the late Ernesto and Rosa M. (Palmieri) Latessa. In her early years, she lived and raised her family in Smithfield. During this time, Norma worked for the dining service at Bryant University for 30 years before retiring and moving to Bradenton, Florida with her loving husband, Walter, where they resided up until recently when they rejoined their family back in RI.
Norma is survived by her children: Diane Conlon, Lori Sharp and her husband Dan, Robert Gianfrancesco and her daughter in law, Cindi Gianfrancesco; her grandchildren: Meghan Williams, Chelsea Treml, Nicholas Conlon and Alex and Sam Gianfrancesco; her great grandchildren: Keith and Ivy Grace Williams and Aidan Treml and her brother, Edward Latessa. She was the mother of the late Arthur Gianfrancesco and sister of the late Ernest Latessa, Claire Choiniere and Marie Sheehan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 5th at 11am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 8:30-10:30am. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
