Prasor "Sa" Chim Meak, left this world unexpectedly on September 17, 2023 in Honolulu, HI. She was born January 14th, 1989, in Cu Chi Refugee Camp in Vietnam to Bony Pen and the late Sokhonn Chim.
Prasor attended Saint Patrick's Elementary School and graduated from Lowell High in 2007. Sa was considered a book-worm to her siblings. She loved the journey that each book would take her on. Her passion to wander would later evolve into her life of adventure in the wild blue yonder, known as the United States Air Force, which she joined in 2012. Although she was the youngest amongst her siblings, her capacity to excel allowed her to succeed and surpass them in anything and everything. At a prime age of 28, she was selected through a highly competitive program to become a nurse, graduating from Officer Training School in 2019. She recently sewed on the rank of Captain while stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam where she was the Element Chief, Enroute Patient Staging Flight, 15th Operation Medical Readiness Squadron. In September 2023, Sa embarked on her never ending journey.
Besides her mother, Bony Pen, she is survived by her five older siblings: Sandap Chim-Ros of Lowell, MA, Chakrya Sam of Alamogordo, NM, Thlaythla Meak of Beale AFB, CA, Rongroeung Meak of Misawa, JP and Savy Yim of Pelham, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews and her beloved furbaby, Mad Hatter - named after a character in her favorite fantasy book. She was preceded in death by her Father, Sokhonn Chim, Grandfathers, Joseph Paul Chim and Pen Hong, and Grandmothers, Nen Ngoun and Ouk Vath.
A public wake will take place Friday, September 29th, 2023 at McDonough Funeral Home from 2-8pm, at 14 Highland St, Lowell, MA. Her funeral will begin on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her funeral at Saint Margaret of Scotland Church at 10 a.m., 374 Stevens Street, Lowell, MA with military honors. Procession will follow to Merrimack Crematory, 10 Henry Clay Drive, Merrimack, NH.
Sa's legacy will forever be impressed upon her family, friends, and all those she came across. She was a beloved daughter, a loving sister and dear friend. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
