PINE POINT- Jayne Elizabeth Walker, age 62 passed away on September 22, 2023, in Boston, Massachusetts with members of her loving family at her side after a valiant and courageous battle with lymphoma. Jayne was born in Portland, Maine on July 10, 1961, a daughter of the late George and Ruth-Elizabeth (Garner) Walker. Jayne grew up in Kezar Falls and attended local schools. As a child she along with her parents and sister, Joanne and brother, Dean summered in Pine Point from the day after school ended until the day before school started. It was there that Jayne developed her deep love for the ocean and the beach. After graduating from Sacopee Valley High School in 1980, she went on to attend Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA, graduating in 1982 with a degree in recreational leadership.

Jayne cherished her beach house in Pine Point and in retirement she took on the title of “Mayor” of Sea Rose Lane. She maintained many close friendships with her childhood summer beach friends and looked forward to their annual visits. She would visit their houses or sit on the beach with them enjoying summer cocktails and eating fresh seafood, especially enjoying lobster and oysters. She took her mayor title seriously and made sure to check on her neighbors and check on their house when they weren’t home. She enjoyed spending time with her friends as well on the beach and had taken up kayaking in the marsh area of Pine Point. She enjoyed decorating a Christmas tree planted in the sand for years for every holiday and season. It will continue to be decorated in her memory.

Jayne was a caring and loving person. She dedicated her life to caring for her parents during their illnesses until their deaths. She also cared deeply about her nieces and nephews, looking forward to their visits, texts and phone calls. She had a special fondness for her nephew Andrew and would drive him to his singing lessons, take him to special lunches and dinners and never missed one of his theatrical performances!
