Obituary

Nicholas L. DeBaggis, 84, of Franklin died September 23 following a brief illness. He was the husband of Priscilla J. (Perron) DeBaggis for the past 60 years.

Born in Walpole October 18, 1938, the son of the late Primo and Carmela (DeAngelo) DeBaggis, Nick was a lifelong Franklin resident.

He was a graduate of Franklin High School and also attended Northeastern University.

Nick had been a mechanical engineer for the Bird Machine Company in South Walpole for 35 years before retiring. He then worked for 15 years for the BOSE Corporation, as a front entrance security guard where he enjoyed greeting employees and guests each day.

Nick proudly served in the Army, right after high school during the late 1950’s attaining the rank of SP4.

Nick loved helping people and he was active in the street ministry for the homeless in Boston, visiting at hospitals and nursing homes, bringing food and comfort to those in need.

More than anything Nick’s greatest love was for his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, David DeBaggis and his wife Cassia of Sutherland, and Jim DeBaggis and his wife Chris of Orlando, Florida.

He is also survived by his sister, Edith DeBaggis of Shrewsbury and was the brother of the late Donald DeBaggis and Frances Bertone.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shakiel, Zeffan, Colin and Lydia.

His graveside service will be held on Friday, September 29 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 10:45 a.m.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.
