WEBSTER – Catherine “Cathy” (Hayes) Mathieu, 71, died Monday, September 11, 2023 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge after a brief illness.
She leaves her guardian and long-time friend, Melissa C. Hurstak and her husband Jim Daigneault of Worcester; she also leaves her many friends, care givers and support at her home.
She was born on December 6, 1951 in Oakland, Alameda City, California. Mrs. Mathieu worked with the life Skills community in many positions. She was very proud of her work as it brought her great joy. She spent endless summers at the beach with her friends and Caregivers. She enjoyed her time spent watching the birds and wildlife in her garden oasis at her home. Cathy was outgoing, enjoyed socializing and being out in the community, especially if it involved good food. She was a force to be reckoned with, full of energy and life. Loved by many.
A celebration of life will be announced. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street.
