Obituary

LEICESTER_ Ursula C. Banach, 58 of Leicester died on Thursday, September 21, 2023, in UMass Memorial Hospital-University Campus. She is survived by her mother, Katherine Banach; brothers, John Banach of Leicester, Albert Banach and his wife Carolyn of Marlborough and Joseph Banach of Charlton; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She is predeceased by her father John B. Banach and her grandmother Marianna Zlotkowska.
Ms. Banach was born in Glen Cove, NY and moved to Worcester as a child. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and attended Anna Maria College and Worcester State University. She worked at Worcester Youth Guidance Center for over thirty-five years. An avid reader she was quick to pick up a new book or see a new movie release as soon as it came out. She enjoyed traveling both domestically having visited the national parks out west. She also traveled internationally to several European countries. Ursula enjoyed spending time with her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Christmas with all its traditions was a special time for her and family. It also gave her an excuse to enjoy another past time of retail therapy. Ursula was spiritual and devoted to her faith. She was a lifelong member or Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for children in her memory.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester. A funeral with a Mass will be at 10:30 am, Friday, September 29, 2023 in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. www.worcesterfuneral.com
