Obituary

Lois A. O’Brien, 87, a Franklin resident since 1964, died Thursday, September 21, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. O’Brien with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in Boston on June 01, 1936, the daughter of the late Auguste and Margaret LePauloue, the sister of the late Virginia Finnell (Thomas) and Joseph LePauloue and sister-in-law of Patricia LePauloue, William Stegemann (Mary) and the late Douglas O’Brien.

Lois retired from the Corning Medical Co. in Medfield where she worked for many years. She loved spending time with family and friends. Anyone who met “Mama” became a friend for life.  She enjoyed girl’s nights, hanging with friends at Hang Tai, and watching her family grow.

She was the loving and proud mother of her 6 daughters “The Girls”; Kathleen E. O’Brien (the late Charles Higgins) of Franklin, Susan J. Allard (Russ) of Georgia, Dianne L. Fayle (Doug) of Wrentham, Donna P. Brunelli (Jimmy) of Franklin, Maureen A. Rook (Bryan) of Bellingham, Linda A. Sottile (Dave) of Bluffton, SC. She was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren: Katy and Becky O’Brien; Amanda, Heather & Russell Allard; Alison Wolfe (Keith), Michael O’Brien (Krystal), Bryan Brunelli (Lauren Noonan), Laura Brunelli (Connor Smith), Nicholas Bertone (Chayanna), Joseph Bertone (Tori), Andrea Baxter (Kevin) & Jackie Sottile (Matt Taylor).  Also survived by her 16 cherished great-grandchildren: Emily, Leo, Micah, Zachary, Ava, Benjamin, Jacob, Kylie, Madison, Maria, Davi, Logan, Lily, Konnor, Ellie and Aubrey. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and treasured friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Tuesday at 9:15 AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. www.oterifuneralhome.com with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 PM.
