Obituary

Gene Mark O’Loughlin, 62, of Newport, ME, passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2023.

He was born on November 28th, 1960, in Tewksbury, MA to Barbara Ann Nelson (Batcheller-O’Loughlin) and the late John Laurent O’Loughlin.

Gene was raised in both Tewksbury, MA and Pelham, NH. He graduated from Pelham High School in 1979.

After high school he went on to become an electrician and did construction remodeling projects across New England.

Gene was known for his charming smile and dedication to showing everyone a good time.

Gene’s passion for cooking led him to work in several restaurants during his younger years. His love for grilling made for many happy customers.

Gene enjoyed spending long days at “the office”, where he frequently called for “safety meetings.” He raised his family in Maine, a place dear to his heart.

He will forever be remembered by his friends as “Geno”.

Gene is survived by his daughter; Abigail Adams of Allenstown, NH, his mother; Barbara Ann Nelson (Batcheller-O’Loughlin) of Laguna Niguel, CA, his step-mother Norma Lorraine O’Loughlin of Salisbury, MA, his siblings; Theresa (O’Loughlin) Dandurant and her partner Raymond Bowman of Laguna Niguel, CA, John Laurent O’Loughlin II, and his fiancé Denise Young of Salem, NH, Timothy Patrick O’Loughlin, and his wife Brenda of Chester, NH, Linda Ann O’Loughlin of Laguna Niguel, CA, Patrick Michael O’Loughlin of Laguna Niguel, CA, Brian Michael O’Loughlin and his wife Brandi of Phoenix, AZ, Erin Kathleen (O’Loughlin) Hudson and her husband Craig Jr. of Salisbury, MA, his nephews; John O’Loughlin III and his wife Fernanda of Nashua, NH, Kyle O’Loughlin of Pelham, NH, Craig Hudson III and Brayden Hudson of Salisbury, MA, his niece Kate O’Loughlin of Chester, NH, and several friends across New England.
