Dennis R. Valeri 10/15/52-9/18/23. Age 70, of Dedham, formerly of Readville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Son of the late Anthony M. Valeri and Clementina R. Valeri (nee Giannangelo) of Readville. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia J. Valeri (nee Provost). Loving father to Anthony A. Valeri, his wife Jamie L. Valeri (nee Bull), and daughter Marianna "May" L. Valeri. Devoted Papa to granddaughter Violet "VeeVee" R. Valeri. Survived by brother Joseph Valeri, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Dennis was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran, enlisting after graduation from Hyde Park High School. He was an architectural designer for the Boston Public School Planning and Engineering Department, retired after 40 years, an avid Boston sports fan, a pianist and vocalist for his jazz band for many years, and an animal lover and rescuer. He had a heart of gold and a soul to match, and will be missed by many.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham on Sunday, Sept. 24 from 3:00-7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Anne’s Church, 90 W Milton St., Readville on Monday, Sept. 25 at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to celebrate Dennis' life with his wife and children. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
