Robert S. Newell, Jr., age 54 of Brockton, passed away peacefully on August 1 after a long illness. Born on June 9, 1969 in Oxnard, CA, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Kathleen H. (Johnson) Newell, Sr. Rob graduated Brockton High School and worked as a print technician at New England Art for many years. For the past several years he worked as a Senior Security Systems Technician for New Era Technology and was a member of Local 103.
Rob had a love for music, which began when he was a DJ at Riverdale Roller World in West Bridgewater. Additionally, he had a great love of sports and rooted for all the Boston teams. He was a member of a dart league and also enjoyed golfing.
Rob’s passion and love for others was evident in the selfless way he put others before himself. He prided himself on being a hard worker and providing for those he cared about.
Rob is survived by his brother Jason G. Newell of Brockton and was the brother of the late Jennifer L. Newell.
A Celebration of Life gathering for Rob will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, on Saturday, September 23 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2:30pm. Which will include Jennifer L. Newell and Kathleen Newell.
