Cheryl Marie Bellany, age 50, of Attleboro, a former resident of Franklin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, September 16th at the Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston, following a sudden illness.
Cheryl was born on June 24, 1973 in Norwood, MA. She graduated with honors from Norwood High School, attended Bentley College and worked at home as an accountant.
Cheryl was a loving mother to her two beautiful children and devoted her life to raising them. Her children were her pride and joy and her greatest accomplishment in life.
Her son Devon, 27, is the Premium Manager at Agganis Arena at Boston University and also an accomplished musician. Her daughter Linsey, 22, graduated from UNH and is a Labor and Delivery Nurse at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton.
Cheryl was generous and selfless, always taking care of everyone, from her children to her fiancé to her sisters to her nephew. She was always ready to jump in and take charge to help everyone she loved.
In recent years, Cheryl enjoyed traveling, always headed out on her next adventure with her fiancé Stephen. She especially enjoyed going to St. Marten, Kennebunk, Maine, Atlantic City, Saratoga Horse Races and camping with her family. She loved to listen to live music and danced with a happy, free spirit.
Cheryl is survived by: Fiancé Stephen Ferrara of Attleboro, MA; Father Joseph Bellany of Norwood, MA and his wife Ellen; Mother Terri Brady of Plainville, MA and her partner James Basque of Attleboro, MA; Son Devon Maloof of Boston, MA; Daughter Linsey Maloof of Attleboro, MA; Sister Christie Bellany Cartwright of Salem, NH; Sister Candice Bellany of Natick, MA; and nephew Walter (Bobby) Cartwright IV of Salem, NH.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday, September 23rd, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home at 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.
Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 22nd, from 4-7PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to United Cerebral Palsy.
