WILSON, Jean (McGovern) of West Roxbury, died on September 15, 2023 after a heroic 20-year battle with cancer. Jean never let her illness stop her from having a good time and enjoying her family and friends. Her spirit and love of life was inspirational.
She was the daughter of Gerald and Mary (Mayo) McGovern. Devoted wife to her loving husband Stephen Wilson of West Roxbury. Loving mother of her 3 children, her son Mark Townsend and his wife Tracy of West Roxbury, her daughter Lindsey Van Dam and her husband Mark of Mansfield and her son Daniel Wilson and his wife Katelyn of Braintree. Adored Nana to her 9 grandchildren, Robert, William, Joseph, Madison, Natalie, Brendan, Jacqueline, Elizabeth and Patrick. One of 7 siblings, Thomas McGovern of Allston, Linda Ferrari of Holbrook, Marie Cousineau of Brighton, Michael McGovern of Cape Cod and Carol Sullivan of Weymouth. Cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews. Loyal and dedicated friend to many.
Family and friends are invited to Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Tuesday, September 19th from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 20th at 10:30 AM at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre St. West Roxbury.
