Lillian M. Gendron, age 83, a resident of Tewksbury for 47 years, formerly of Cambridge, passed away at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on Thursday evening, September 14, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of Charles W. Gendron, who passed away on November 17, 2019.
Born in Cambridge on August 23, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Rueben Brookings and the late Emma (Garland) Brookings.
Lillian was raised in Cambridge, attended Cambridge schools, and graduated from Cambridge Latin High School.
In 1976, she and her late husband moved to Tewksbury, where they raised their three children.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at the former Bob’s Store in Billerica.
In her spare time, Lillian enjoyed cooking, shopping for bargains, playing games of chance, following her beloved Boston Red Sox.
She was the devoted mother of Charles E. Gendron and his wife Michelle, of Hampstead, NH, Cheryl M. Galasso and her late husband John, of Wilmington, and Steven G. Gendron and his wife Silvia Simeone, of Chelmsford. She leaves nine grandchildren, Charlie, Nick, Cam, Abby, Samantha, Zach, Johnny, Mariella, and Tyler; two great grandchildren, John and Rori: many nieces and nephews including Terry Hahn, Debbie Smith, and Nibbie Spinneto.
Lilian was pre-deceased by her two brothers and one sister.
Family and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Tuesday, September 19th, at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. At Lillian’s request, there are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Sawtelle Hospice House 320 Haverhill Street, Reading, MA 01867.
