Obituary

“UnitedHelen (Reynolds) Wolst, United States Air Force (Retired), a resident of Melbourne, Florida and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care in Melbourne, Florida. She was 93 years of age.

Helen was born in Boston on May 21, 1930, a daughter of the late John Reynolds and Ruth (Maliff) Reynolds. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High in 1947. Helen furthered her education and received her Nursing Degree from Whidden School of Nursing and then received her degree from Boston College. Helen enlisted into the United States Air Force on August 6, 1951, and served her country faithfully and with dedication as a Flight Nurse during the Korean Conflict. She was honorably discharged on August 5, 1953 with the rank of Captain. Following her discharge, Helen remained active as a dedicated volunteer in numerous Air Force organizations.

Helen is the beloved wife of the late Colonel Mack D. Wolst M.D., United States Air Force (Retired). She is the devoted sister of Louise Prakop and her late husband John of Carver, retired Boston Fire Department Captain Paul Reynolds and his wife Pat of Melrose and the late Gertrude Carlisle and her late husband Richard and the late John "Jack" Reynolds and his surviving wife Mary. Helen is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Helen's Funeral Services and burial alongside her husband Mack at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia will be held at a later date.
