Obituary

Jay Ficco, of Douglas died peacefully in the early hours of August 31st.

Born in Milford, December 7, 1952, the son of the late Anthony “Tony” and Pauline (Cataldo) Ficco, he was raised in Franklin and had lived in Douglas for many years.

Jay graduated college in Vermont with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.

He went on to be a founder of First Fire Systems, as a licensed sprinkler fitter.

Known for his colorful personality, Jay loved riding his treasured custom Harley’s. Jay also had a love for his animals as well as the outdoors.

Jay, is survived by his sons, Jaimi W. Ficco and his wife Whitney of Reno, Nevada, Justin L. Chapman of Northbridge and his stepson Anthony J. Spellman and his wife Robyn of Blackstone.

He is also survived by several grandchildren and many friends.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 28 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin from 11:00-1:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.

There will be a celebration of Jay’s life at the Sportsman’s Club, 360 Lake Street Bellingham following the service from 3-6 p.m.
