James A. Hansen, 86, a longtime resident of Franklin passed away on September 7, 2023, after a brief stay in the hospital. He was the husband of Millie (Nelson) Hansen for the past 59 years.
Born in Chicago, IL on May 10, 1937, the son of the late Harry and Gertrude Hansen. James graduated from Needham High School in 1956 then proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard and went on to become a plumber and worked at B&E Plumbing for many years before starting his own business. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling, and watching Gunsmoke.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son David of Blythewood, SC, Daniel and his wife Tracy, Brad and his wife Brenda all of Bellingham, MA, and his five grandchildren, Kayla and Sarah Hansen, David and Missy Archer, Aaron Williamson along with his brother Ralph and his wife Margaret from Exeter, NH, brother-in-law Arthur Nelson his wife Connie of Sanford, ME and four nephews.
All services are private and in lieu of the flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Tri-Valley, Inc. 10 Mill Street, Dudley, MA 01571.
