Mr. Burrell was born on November 16, 1948, in Oakridge, Tennessee, to the late Brabson Burrell and Ruby Southworth Burrell. Don began his education at the University of Tennessee where he was a member of the track team. Before graduating, he joined the Marine Corps and proudly served his nation during the Vietnam War era. After his military service, he returned to the University of Tennessee and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Following graduation, he pursued roles in sales and marketing over the decades. A natural salesman his whole life, Don started his own small business which is still run by his family today. For his last 20 years of work, he provided consulting services to political campaigns and non-profits. In retirement, Don spent his years loving his grandchildren, bringing them laughter and joy faster than anyone, and was the recipient of their constant adoration. Don was a lifelong Christian and left a legacy to his children and grandchildren the values he held dear - a deep love for his country, an unwavering loyalty to the Tennessee Vols, and an unyielding commitment to hard work.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Vi Dunn Burrell of Fitzgerald; children: Ryan Carlton Burrell & Jessica, Beau Roberts Burrell, Zachary Wade Burrell, John David Burrell & Monica and Janey Elizabeth Hughes & Brandon; nine grandchildren: Mackenzie Elizabeth Fleming, Shepherd Wade Burrell, Thomas Wade Burrell, Wyatt James Burrell, Barrett Woodbery Burrell, Bennett Perry Burrell, Harvey Wade Hughes, Owen Donald Burrell and Mason Bennett Burrell; a sister, Sharyn Burrell Kuebbing and a brother, Jack Clyde Burrell.
