Lloyd Walter Tinker, age 93, entered into rest on September 9, 2023 at his home in Prosser. He was born on January 13, 1930 to Ray and Roberta (Harris) Tinker in Ellensburg, Washington where he spent his early years until his family moved to Prosser when he was 14. He finished his education, graduating from Prosser High School, and then served in the United States Army for 2 ½ years. After his discharge he returned to Prosser and raised sugar beets, corn, wheat and hay on the Roza. On August 2, 1951 Lloyd married Norma Jean Boyle. In 1960 he gave up farming and they moved to Ontario, California where he worked for GE Jet beginning as a mechanic and ending as an engineer, retiring after 30 years. After retiring in 1999 he returned to Prosser and stayed busy collecting scrap and metal; making scroll art work and creating yard art. He also volunteered for Hobbs and the Prosser Museum. After the death of Norma Jean, Lloyd traveled with his companion Barbara around the country for Grave Finders, confirming gravesites and taking pictures of headstones.
Lloyd enjoyed bicycling, riding motorcycles, camping, hunting and fishing.
Lloyd is survived by his son, Dennis Tinker (Teresa) and daughter, Tami Tinker of Prosser; grandchildren, Nicole Tinker, Marlee Tinker, and Connor, Rees, Brandon and Austin Tinker; great-grandchildren, Kyle Tinker, Jackson Willoughby and Cameron Tinker. He is also survived by his life partner, Barbara Joyce Larsen. He was also preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cheryl Tinker and his sister, Donna Hazzard.
