Arleen Loiacono, 83, of Derry, NH, passed away on Friday September 8, 2023, in the High Point Hospice, Haverhill, MA. She was born on September 21, 1939, in Slough, England and had been a resident of Derry since 2008, formerly living in Lowell, MA.
Arleen’s story is bittersweet like many; however, she always managed to remain strong and find her way. Arleen, small by nature, but larger than life in many ways! Her wit would often bear its presence whenever given the opportunity or not! You could always count on her to throw a theoretical curve ball one way or another.
From the minute you meet Arleen, it is clear that she loves her children, they are her priority and greatest accomplishment, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are her joy along with her cat Sheba. We often referred to her as Dr. Doolittle because of her love for animals. Arleen had a way of making her animals feel like humans, they even believed it! As for her hero and favorite person in the World, that is her brother Ralph, whenever she talks to him and/or reminisces of their shared memories she lights up like no other. Then there is Ramere of course…
She is survived by her three children, Anne Marie Deem of Nashua, NH, Daniel Anthony Loiacono and wife Marylin of Hudson, NH, and Mark Louis Loiacono of Derry; her two step children Anthony Robert Loiacono and children and Rene Agri and children; twelve grandchildren, Brittany, Shawna, Devin, Olivia, Nevaeh, Krystal, Dominic, Matthew, Vincent, Kayla, Brianna, and Rodney; eleven great-grandchildren, Tatum, Camryn, Rhett, Levi, Raeh, Rori, Nyomi, Malekia, Aniya, Athena and Jeremia; one brother, Ralph Cox and his wife Sue of England, her two nieces, Katie and Rachel and their families and of course her dear friend Karen and circle of many neighbors and friends.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday September 14, 2023, from 5 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
