Myrtice Elizabeth Mauldin, 82, of Albany passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Her funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. TJ Mauldin officiating. Mrs. Mauldin will be laid to rest at Baker Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Mauldin’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Born September 15, 1940, in Berrien County, Mrs. Mauldin was the daughter of the late Ida Ruth Sumner Drawdy and the Rev. Ernest “Leon” Drawdy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Wilford Mauldin; one son, Timothy Mauldin; two brothers, Dewey Drawdy and Dan Drawdy; and one sister, Faye Warren. She was a retired homemaker and she was a member of the Cathedral of Faith Church in Albany. She was known to be the best chicken and dumpling maker and she was a thrift store lover. She loved her family and Jesus and she was Mema to all. She was the ultimate prayer warrior and peacemaker. She loved her little dog, Cookie.
Mrs. Mauldin is survived by one son, Tony Mauldin of Albany; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Linda Drawdy and Donnie and Judy Drawdy, all of Ty Ty, Bobby and Susan Drawdy of Omega and David and Glenda Drawdy of Tifton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and Bobby Wright, Brooke Mauldin Kosar, TJ and Taylor Mauldin and Holly and Wesley Averette; ten great-grandchildren, Emree Wright, Elayna Wright, Bradley Wright, Izzie Kosar, Preston Averette, Sawyer Averette, Ethan Averette, Marley Averette, Elizabeth Claire Mauldin and Cameron Mauldin; and countless nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, as well as her extended family and friends.
