We are sad to announce that on September 5, 2023 we said goodbye to Nicholas J. Sinnott of Dedham, Massachusetts. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his late wife, Philomena Sinnott (O'Leary); his children, James P. Sinnott (Susan) of North Attleboro, John D. Sinnott (Cathleen) of Mattapoisett, and Deirdre Sullivan (John) of Dedham; his grandchildren, Kathryn, Emily, Colleen (Tyler Frantz), Terrence, and Desmond Sinnott, Erin Maguire (Chuck), Molly Bauer (Herman), and Mary Kate, David, and Daniel Sullivan (Brigid McCann); his great grandchildren, Tilly Bauer and Rory Maguire; and his siblings, John Sinnott of Wexford and Sr. Monica Sinnott, Sisters of St. John of God. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary Sinnott of Wexford and his siblings Catherine, Robert, Anna, Elizabeth, Marie, Ellen, and James.
“Nick” was a devoted communicant at St. Mary’s, Dedham for over 50 years and enjoyed parish-sponsored events, trips, and pilgrimages. He was an active member of the Dedham Retired Men’s Club. For many years, he worked as an accountant at John Hancock in Boston. He loved spending his summers on the beach down at Onset and Westport with his family. Nick also cared deeply about his extended Irish immigrant “family” and could regularly be caught at the former Concannon’s of Norwood, singing an Irish pub song or two and dancing the night away with his beloved “Phyl.” He spent his final years well cared for by the amazing staff at Traditions of Dedham, along with the remarkable care team from Hospice Services of Massachusetts. Always quick with a joke, Nick will fondly be remembered for his Irish wit, right up until the very end.
