Robert David Johnson, of Prosser, entered into rest on August 26, 2023 in Grandview. He was born on May 20, 1947 in Raymond, Washington to Boyd and Myra Johnson. He was raised and educated in Aberdeen, Washington where he graduated from High School. He then attended the University of Washington and then graduated from Central Washington University.
Besides raising cattle and sheep on his farm he taught math at Grandview Middle School. His love of wrestling lead him to be the Grandview boys and girls wrestling coach. He was also Operating Engineer for 50 years.
Robert married Joy Slaven and they had two children, Robert Jr. and Brandy. He later Married Myrna Montcalm. They lived in Prosser until living in Alaska for 13 years where he also was a wrestling coach and Operating Engineer.
Robert is survived by his wife, Myrna; his son, Robert Jr. of California; daughter, Brandy hall; stepson Richard Critchlow of Honolulu; sister, Linda Edinger (Ron) of Spokane and Marvin Johnson (Terri); 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a Celebration of Bob’s Life on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Grandview High School Gym.
