BELCHERTOWN – Barbara L. (Gagnon) Osborne, 71, of Belchertown, was Called Safely Home on Monday, September 4, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on November 14, 1951, a beloved daughter of the late Lester A. and Yvette A. (Larocque) Gagnon. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke High School in 1969 and had lived in Hatfield, Indiana and the Fairview section of Chicopee before moving to Belchertown in 2019. She was employed in the Accounts Payable Department for 20 years at the Canson Company in South Hadley and retired in 2007. During her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time at the Holyoke Senior Center, playing bingo at the Fairview Council 4044 Knights of Columbus in Chicopee, creating ceramics and camping for many years. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Theodore N. Osborne who was Called Home on November 1, 1985. They were married at Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke on August 11, 1973 and were blessed with over 12 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving siblings, Allen L. Gagnon and his wife, Jeanne, of South Hadley, Daniel L. Gagnon and his wife, Elaine, of Summerfield, FL, Raymond L. Gagnon and his wife, Cecile, of Chicopee and Eileen D. Timberlake and her husband, Roger, of Spottsville, KY; her dear brother in law, John Gasaway of Tennyson, IN; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear sister in law, Ellen Gasaway; and her dear brother in law, John F. Osborne. Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear.
