Patricia A. Dean, lifelong resident of Westport, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 2nd. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Fire Chief, Chief George F. Dean. Mrs. Dean was born in Westport, daughter of the late Antone C. Rosinha and the late Margaret (Charrette) Rosinha Thatcher.
Mrs. Dean worked as a homemaker and caretaker for several extended family members and Westport residents. She was an active member of the Westport Women’s Club and Scholarship Committee for many years.
Mrs. Dean had one of the biggest servant hearts you will ever meet. She found great joy in cooking, cleaning, spending time with her family and going to the casino. When there wasn’t a loved one around to serve, you’d find her feeding one of her four legged friends. She also loved to feed and watch the birds, namely cardinals and hummingbirds. Her entire life was devoted to her husband George and her greatest joy was preparing some of her “famous recipes” for her family.
Survivors include her four children: Daughter Jody Cote and husband David of Westport and their daughter Khoryn; Sons George "Skip" Dean and wife Kelly of Westport and their sons Grant and Chapin; Alan Dean and wife Kimberly of Westport and their son Jacob; daughter Lori Wukawitz and husband Mark of Minneapolis, Minnesota and their daughter Emma. Her loving heart also reached out to many in her extended family, especially Amy Miguel and husband Derrick and family. She was also fondly referred to as the “matriarch” and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Eileen Silva, Charles Rosinha, Albert Rosinha, and Margaret Oliveira.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, September 9, at the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. Visitation will be immediately followed by a service at 10:00 A.M.
Interment at Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
