Lillian Claire (Baird) Champeau, 86, of Medway died September 2 at home following a long illness. She was the wife of Alfred W. Champeau for the past 34 years. Lillian was also the wife of the late Paul W. Higgins.
Born in Somerville, October 13, 1936, the daughter of the late William J. and Lillian C. (Ahern) Baird, Lillian was raised in Somerville and had lived in Newton prior to moving to Medway 40 years ago.
Lillian had worked in the school cafeteria in the Medway schools and before that in Holliston.
She enjoyed, yard sales, antiquing, knitting and reading.
In addition to her husband Lillian is survived by her children, Paul Higgins of Millis, Claire Perkins and her husband Tom of Douglas, William Higgins of Millville and Robert Higgins and his wife Patricia of Medway.
She is also survived by her sister Mary Carroll of Barnstable and was the sister of the late Marjorie Lunday, Alice Mallard and William Baird.
Lillian is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 7 in St. Joseph Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Needham.
