Ellen C. Lenehan, 69

Ellen C. Lenehan was born April 18, 1954, on Easter Sunday in a hospital on Prince Edward Island, Canada. At 8 months old she was adopted by her adoring parents William Jr. and Rita Lenehan of Canton, MA.
She grew up in Canton with her two brothers William III and Denis. She often spoke lovingly about her childhood and enjoyed telling stories of when she was growing up, including working at Ponkapoag Golf Course as a teen. She was married to Richard Bonner Sr in the late 70s. Her and her former spouse moved to East Taunton, MA and raised 4 children in her home. As life went on, she also included her partner’s daughter if asked about her children.
Freed from the bonds of a failed body she was reunited with her parents and brothers who predeceased her. She is survived by her loving children, Richard Bonner Jr; Timothy Bonner and his wife Heather; Elizabeth Bonner and her husband Alvan Fuller III; Shannon McCrohan and her husband Timothy; Haley Bessette and her husband Michael. She is also survived by her partner Paul Hamilton Jr, whom she so enjoyed living life with. Ellen leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Hannah, Isaac, Michael, Ethan, Oliver, Lacey, Chloe, Liam, Leonora, Landon, Bradley and MacKenzie.
Ellen was an active member of her community, spending 30 years as a rural letter carrier in the Town of Norton, a job she took great pride in. In addition to her family listed above Ellen leaves behind two nephews Denis II and William IV, as well as nieces, nephews, and beloved in-laws on her former spouse’s side who she remained in close contact with. She also leaves behind many friends who she loved dearly. Ellen passed away on September 3, 2023, from complications related to COPD.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, September 15th from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
A service in celebration of her life will take place at the funeral home at 6:00 P.M. on Friday at the conclusion of visiting hours.
