Leicester_ Irene (Makowiecki) Dymek, 90, of Leicester died surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in UMass Memorial Medical Center. Her husband, John V. Dymek died in 1993. She is survived by her children, Paul J. Dymek and his wife Mary Anna of Worcester, Edward A. Dymek and his wife Elizabeth of Spencer, Mary Ann Georgian and her husband Stephen of East Brookfield and Stephen M. Dymek of Leicester; brother Chester M. Makowiecki of Auburn; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her two daughters, Diane M. Gagan and Therese M. Fava as well as a sister Theresa Kaczyk, and brothers Henry, Michael, and Edward Makowiecki. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Andrew and Mary (Kawecki) Makowiecki.
Mrs. Dymek worked alongside her husband for many years as the office manager of their company Office Machines, Inc. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Irene was happiest in the company of her large family. Proud of her Polish heritage, she shared her pride with her family and friends. Never bashful, she was open and happy to meet people and share her thoughts.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester. A funeral with a Mass will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. www.worcesterfuneral.com
