Obituary

Southbridge – Kathleen Collins, 66, of Southbridge, MA and formerly of Worcester, MA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 28, 2023 in her home.

Kathleen is survived by her loving companion of 37 years, Robert Hunter Jr. of Worcester, MA; her four children, Melony Collins of Southbridge, MA, Vanessa Collins of Las Vegas, NV, Cynthia Nalia of Southbridge, MA and Nathan Collins of Dudley, MA; a brother, Michael Collins of Worcester, MA; a sister, Rebecca Depiro of Texas; 15 grandchildren (Alexxus Afriyie, William Ofori, Elijah Ofori, Jade Ofori, Zhuri Ofori, Troy Woodard, Chrisette Collins, Amali Collins, Mahamoud Nalia, Amieyah Nalia, Nathan Collins Jr, Ethan Collins, Natalia Collins, Nolan Collins, & Naelean Collins) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. There is too many to name but she was also a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother to so many.

Kathleen was born in Jersey City, NJ daughter of the late Joseph V. Collins Jr. and Anna M. (Gurtowski) Collins. She is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph & Kelly Collins and her sister Amelia Collins. She worked as a certified nursing aide for many years, most recently for Tempus and previously at the Greenery, the Jewish Healthcare Center, Christopher Heights, and Life Skills.

She frequently attended Faith Church in Auburn, MA and enjoyed reading and fishing whenever possible. She also loved spending her past time at the beaches. Kathleen could often be found taking time out of her day to help others, including taking care of her brother, Mike. She was rekindling her relationship with her sister, Becky. She loved to be with her family and cherished the times that she was able to spend with them.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 9th at 12 Noon in Faith Church 22 Faith Avenue Auburn, MA. The family requests that all attending please dress in a casual and vibrant way to help celebrate her life and personality. If anyone wishes to contribute towards the services, they can reach out to either Cynthia or Melony and a donation box will be available on the day of services.
