Helen I. Bathauer, age 100, passed away on August 8, 2023, in Ventura. She was born in Highland Park, Michigan on April 17, 1923, to Irmgard and William Liebelt, both immigrants from Germany. Helen was the beloved wife of Robert N. Bathauer, and devoted mother to her three children: Sharlene, Janene and Bobby.
Born in the roaring 20s, she lived through the Great Depression and was resilient and bold, loving life despite any obstacle. She loved laughing, chatting, going to lunch, watching great movies, and above all, reading a good book.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Bathauer and son Robert N. Bathauer Jr. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharlene Morgan (Richard), and Janene Wasserman (Howard), as well as her five grandchildren, Amarie Wright (Charles), Wendy Priest, Craig Morgan (Patty), Andrew Wasserman (Kareena), Lesley Wasserman (Rony), and her 8 great-grandchildren.
