Sue Ellen Parker Watson, 82, of Tifton passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at Harborview Nursing Home in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 4, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Rickey Wells officiating. Mrs. Watson will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 4, 2023, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 3, 2023, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Mrs. Watson’s son’s home at 97 Julia Road in Tifton.
Born June 24, 1941, in Floyd County, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late James Levy Parker and Cora Lee Brown Parker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Tony” Watson; one daughter, Peggy Luke Webb; one brother, Bobby Parker; and one sister, Thelma Cooper. Before retiring, she worked as a hostess at Waffle House and she had lived in Tifton since 1989.
Mrs. Watson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Tammy Luke of Omega; three grandchildren, Danielle and Rob Buckley, Blake Webb and Vince and Sara Gilliard; and five great-grandchildren, Buck Buckley, Riley Buckley, Kylie Spurlin, Emilie Spurlin and Ellie Gilliard.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice of Tift Area and the staff at Harborview Nursing Home in Tifton for their special care of Mrs. Watson.
