WORCESTER - Mrs. Carol J. (Whitman) Gerardi, 87, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital.
Carol was born on May 9, 1936, in Worcester, a daughter of the late Donald and Janet (Duranleau) Whitman. She was the loving wife of forty-two years to the late Francis R. Gerardi whom she lost on November 19, 2010.
A lifelong resident, Carol was educated through the Worcester schools. She worked for many years as a salesclerk at Caldor Department store in Worcester.
Carol was strong in character with a quick wit and handled adversities with care and understanding. She had an undying love for her family and was one whom never judged. Carol loved to do her crossword puzzles while enjoying a cup of coffee every morning. She liked to be on the lookout for all kinds of birds as the season arose. She enjoyed going to the casino, loved everything Elvis, watching old movies, the Price is Right, Friends, Everybody loves Raymond, the Andy Griffith Show, Family Feud and cheering on the Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox.
Carol looked forward to family visits and get-together trips to the Cape, Nantasket, Old Orchid and Hampton Beach.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Gerardi with whom she resided, Kurt Zmyslowski and his wife Lisa, two daughters, Brenda Gerardi, Kim Morrill and her husband James, two sisters in law, Marylin Mari and her husband John, Rita Carney Anderson; four grandchildren, Sadie, Santino, Kyle and Amani Gerardi; also several nieces and nephews.
Carol was pre-deceased by her siblings, Ronald Whitman, Joan DeMarco and her brother-in-law, Tony.
