David A. Dunn
Former Telecommunications Business Owner
TEWKSBURY: David A. Dunn, age 59, a resident of Tewksbury for 30 years, formerly of Billerica, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from a heart related illness.
He was the beloved husband of Linda G. (Finley) Dunn, with whom he celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary last October, and devoted father of Caitlin J. Dunn, and her husband Joseph R. White of Dracut.
Born in Lowell on February 20, 1964, he was the son of Robert J. Dunn, Sr., of Billerica and the late Nancy L. (Prescott) Dunn.
David was raised in Billerica, attended local schools and graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in 1982. Following high school, he attended Middlesex Community College in Bedford.
Prior to his illness, David owned and operated a local telecommunications business. In addition, he enjoyed a talent for home improvement renovations and remodeling and renovated many local properties.
He enjoyed many activities including golfing, swimming, boating, water and snow skiing, woodworking, yardwork and gardening, music and spending time with family and friends. David enjoyed time spent in Maine at the family camp, taking family for tubing and water skiing or rides around the lake, as well as sitting around the fire and relaxing. July 4th fireworks were always viewed from the boat on the lake with David at the helm. He enjoyed observing wildlife and feeding the birds that would visit his home. He loved doing home renovation and taking worn out run down houses and restoring them to new homes for new families to live in. He mentored friends and family passing on his knowledge to the next generation which included his daughter, nieces, nephews, sisters and friends. He was a talented problem solver at heart and all of us came to rely on him to do so. He also looked forward to his annual trips to the Caribbean with his wife Linda and close friends.
Besides his wife, daughter, and father, he is survived by his brother, Robert J. Dunn, Jr. and his wife Paula, of Lancaster, NH: two sisters, Ann M. Reed, of Billerica, and Amy L. Varrell and her husband Matthew, of Harvard. Dave was the uncle of Nick and his wife Rachel, Rusty and his girlfriend Olivia, Haylee, Jenna, Jimmy, Andy and the late Cassie. He leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours are Tuesday, September 5th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. A remembrance service will be held Wednesday, September 6th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. At the request of the family, kindly Omit Flowers.
