Paul Hamilton Fort
November 14, 1938-August 23, 2023

Paul Hamilton "Grampy" Fort passed peacefully at the age of 84 at Alexandria Health & Rehab. after lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Paul was born November 14, 1938 in Indianapolis the son of Paul and Verniece Fort. He was the middle child of 3 boys.

Paul served in the Army National Guard, then went on to become a tool designer for General Motors, where he spent the majority of his career - retiring from Guide Lamp in 1998. He was an extremely talented woodworker and collector of classic cars and any type of western memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the love of his life, Margaret "Suzye" Fort, whom he married June 15, 1963 in Speedway. They were madly in love until his passing. He is also survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Rolfsen of Greenwood. He was the proud, loving Grampy to six grandchildren, Delaney, Sydney, and Eddie Fort, and Emma, Ava and Charlie Rolfsen. Above any other accomplishment, being a husband, father and grandfather were his favorite roles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and his son, Paul Fort.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the amazing staff at the Alexandria Health & Rehab. They are exceptional and we are grateful for them for the loving care they gave him. We are also grateful for Kathy Hanson and Keystone Hospice and the loving care given to him until the end.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2023 with a service at 3:00 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Dr. Jerry Grubbs and Dr. David Coplin officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to The Christian Center in Anderson or to the Alzheimer's Association.
